Our History
Cajun Marine Construction has been family-owned and operated since 1999, built on hard work, resourcefulness, and a willingness to learn as we go.
In the early days, while helping with small construction projects, Jay was asked a simple question: “Do you think we could build a boathouse?” At the time, there was no barge, no specialized equipment, and no experience working on the water—but that didn’t stop him.
They found two old pontoons, spent about $10, and built their first work barge by hand. It took an entire summer, and learning how to build on the water came with its fair share of challenges. But that project became the foundation for everything that followed.
Over the years, Jay traveled across the country working construction and welding jobs, always returning home to stay connected to the work that started it all. Then life took an unexpected turn—Jay became a single father. With that came a new priority and a clear decision: to stay closer to home, build something steady, and create a future he could be proud of.
He poured that same work ethic into both raising his daughter and growing Cajun Marine Construction into what it is today.
We now proudly serve Lake Ray Hubbard, Lake Tawakoni, and Lake Fork. With a custom-built work barge and years of hands-on experience, we specialize in building and repairing boat docks, piers, and retaining walls—by land or by water.
This company was built through persistence, problem-solving, and a commitment to doing things right—and that’s exactly how we still operate today.
If you’ve worked with us and love the results, we’d truly appreciate you sharing your experience with a Google review.
